Windows 10 may send your data to Microsoft which you may not want to send

To keep its market moist Microsoft recently launched Windows 10. One of the important features Cortana, which is a voice-activated assistant designed to help with tasks like searching the Web, sending emails and setting reminders, could be sending identifiable information to Microsoft.

The fact is that, every time when your machine interacts with these features, it sends out an identifier unique to your system that can be linked back to you. The link is made, and user information shared with Microsoft, even when the user turns privacy settings on. Microsoft says it collects data to improve services, but no specific data “like search terms” is sent to the company.
